Preserve Sugars Bridge Farm and Camp Barnyard
Sharlene McKinley Bund has transformed Sugars Bridge Farm into a vital community hub since purchasing it in 2018. A former marine biologist and yoga teacher of 25 years, she launched successful alpaca tours during the pandemic and co-founded Camp Barnyard with her son Keilan in 2021. The camp, which teaches children ages 6-12 about sustainable farming and animal care, has flourished with many campers leaving saying they can’t wait to return and one day they too will be camp counselors.
The farm uniquely combines agritourism and education through:
- Hands-on alpaca tours and farm visits
- Summer camp programs fostering environmental stewardship
- Sustainable farming education for all ages
Sugars Bridge Farm stands as a model of agricultural education and community engagement, offering immersive experiences through alpaca tours, farm visits, and summer camps. Under Sharlene's stewardship, the farm has become more than an agricultural enterprise; it represents a vital bridge between generations, connecting children with sustainable practices and fostering environmental stewardship in our region.
